You have to decide for yourself if you believe in it. She uses technology to help to make connections and communicate while allowing you to do it yourself using your own cell phone. It's an experience you get the privilege to participate in, not just be a passive listener. We connected personally and she got to know us as individuals and then customized the tour to the experience we were looking for. Jennifer led us down out of the way alleys and streets where the other tours did not go. It genuinely was like getting the inside scoop that others miss when they just barely scratch the surface. Jennifer and Tours by Locals might not be the best marketers so their tours may not have the same popularity and number of reviews (yet every one of them is 5 stars!), but that's much better for the people on the tour because they get a much more intimate experience. As we passed the massive crowds from the other tours, I was so thankful that I wasn't on one of those as it felt very impersonal, more like watching a show, and most of the people were disengaged as we passed through. We were lucky to have a very small group so it was like a private tour. Her approach is very fluid, not rehearsed. She is a wonderful storyteller and has a great presence and energy. It's not about trying to scare you but rather give you a window to peer into the supernatural world. She shares her knowledge in a way that is very approachable. She is committed to her craft with continuing education and mentors that help her to understand her gifts and powers. Don't get me wrong, the stories she told were wonderful, but it served more as context for deeper understanding of the experience. Feeling the presence of ghosts is much more immersive than listening to the stories. It's about the chills I got multiple times during the experience. The best thing I can say about this tour goes beyond the words I could write. We hope you can find out who the new entity was in the SLS picture. Thank you again, Chris, for an amazing time. If you are looking for a memorable experience that could give you some great stories to tell your friends, this is the tour for you. If you are looking for proof of the afterlife, this may not give you the answers you are looking for. I will say this, we had a good enough time to want to do it again the next time we are in New Orleans, and maybe even back at home. Do I believe that we encountered spirits? I have no reason to doubt or believe. Why did I use quotes? Because it's a belief thing. Both locations had a great story and we encountered "activity" at both places. We had time to visit two locations with a short bathroom/drink stop in between. We got a chance to use a lot of equipment that you see on the shows, including a REM pod, MEL meters, K2 meters, thermal imaging, and an SLS camera (the one that looks like connect the dots). Informative, excited, knowledgeable, and fun. This was about learning the tools of the trade and then getting a chance to use them, and we had a blast! Our guide, Chris, was excellent. We didn't go yelling at spirits, antagonizing them or anything like that. If you are a fan of ghost hunting shows, think more Ghost Hunters than Ghost Adventures. We wanted to learn about the equipment and see what we could on an actual investigation, albeit a short one.
